Packing Checklist

Here is a detailed packing checklist sample, please modify for your trip. This page is part of the travel light post. Travel duration – 2 weeks to any!

Clothes: Carry all light weight clothes. You can wear layers for cold places and use compression wear clothing.

Light weight full pants (or dry fit tracks) -1

Shorts – 1 (if its summer, else drop this)

Night pants – 1

A loose pants/palazzo – 1

Leggings/Light weight plain pants (for airport or Visa on arrival days) – 1

Dress – 1 (party/summer dress)

Tops/T-shirts – 4

Undergarments – 5 set

Socks – 3 pairs

Light Weight thin Jacket – 1

Compression wear – 1 set (for winter only).

Fleece jacket – 1 (for winter only)

Thin bedspread – 1 (optional). If its cold, you can replace it with a woolen shawl

Swim gear (if you have a water place in your itinerary)

Shoes – 1 running or Hiking shoe

Light weight Sandals – 1

Flip flop – 1

Gloves/Mittens – 1 (for winter only)

Quick Dry Towel - 1

Toiletries : Carry Travel size of less than 30 ml (or half used 50 ml bottles)

Soap -1 hard soap or a small shower gel bottle

Shampoo sachets -5

Face wash half used 30 gm pack

Toothpaste, brush, tongue cleaner, floss – 1

Moisturizer – half used 30 gm bottle

Sanitizer – 30 ml

Lip Vaseline

Sanitary pads (for ladies) – As needed. Most places have these, if you are going to remote place, read up blogs that cover this topic in detail.

Sunscreen (Water proof) – 30 ml

Talcum powder (for summer). half used 50 gm bottle

Nail cutter (buy from destination country for long travels), Razor

Deodorant/Perfume

Miscellaneous

Safety pin – 2

Needle and Thread – 1 set (Its a good habit to take one set of needle and thread. It came handy when my 6 year old backpack strap came loose).

Notebook and a pen – 1

Passport holder / Travel pouch – 1

Camera and Charger, extra batteries (if any)

Phone and Charger

Global adapter – 1

Torch – 1 (no extra batteries, unless you are going on a long hike)

Contact Lens (1 pair carry, 1 to wear) and Spectacles (if applicable)

Lens solution (pack two small bottles). You do get these in most country. But since its a question of your eyes, do not take a chance.
